BIOGRAPHY

Venezuelan pianist, Emiliano Ramniceanu had already made his Debut at the Teresa Carreno Hall in Caracas with the Miranda State Symphony Orchestra at the age of 13, receiving later a scholarship to study in the Interlochen Arts Academy, a prestigious high school for talented artists, under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Coonrod. He then, proceeded to study Bachelor at the San Francisco Conservatory under Yoshikazu Nagai and Master at the Eastman School of Music under Dr. Nelita True, with merit scholarship under both institutions. Since then, Ramniceanu has worked as a soloist, chamber-musician, and ensemble pianist in Venezuela, United States and Europe.

As a soloist, he has performed in major cities around the world including Hamburg, Flensburg, Cologne, San Francisco, Rochester, Paris, London, Vienna, Amalfi, Montepulciano and Caracas. Also, he has played as a soloist with various orchestras including the Francisco de Miranda Symphony and the Miranda State Symphony Orchestra in Venezuela, the Publikumsorchester Hamburg and the Junge Kammerorchester Hamburg. In January 2019, Ramniceanu gave his debut in both halls of the prestigious Elbphilharmonie playing a solo recital and the Prokofiev’s First Piano Concerto with the Publikumsorchester. One year later he played again in the Kleine Saal from the Elbphilharmonie as a Soloist with the Junge Kammeorchester Hamburg.

Other noteworthy performances are the concert at the Gustav Mahler Festival am Attersee 2021, where Ramniceanu performed together with his mentor Christiane Behn, the singers Iris Vermillion and Brigid Steinberger, and the Bach Chor Salzburg an arrangement of the second Mahler Symphony arranged for two pianos, choir and two soloist singers. Ramniceanu also performed in the Schleswig-Holstein Festival with Cellist Daniel Arias and for the opening of the “Musik in den Häusern der Stadt” festival.

HONORS AND PRIZES

Ramniceanu also appeared in television and radio broadcasts from Interlochen Public Radio in the United States and NDR Kultur and NDR Fernsehen in Germany. Ramniceanu continues to give regular performances while he courses his studies of Music Performance at the College of Musik and Dance in Cologne  under Florence Millet and Instrumental Pedagogy at the Hamburg Conservatory under Christiane Behn. Some of his future engagements include a concert as solist with the Wolsey Orchestra in England in May 2022, and a Concert as a soloist with the Wuppertal Symphony.

Ramniceanu has been awarded merit scholarships and numerous prizes in local, national and international competitions in Venezuela, United States and Germany. Most recently he was the 1st and 3rd prize winner of the Brahms International Piano Competition in Hamburg in two consecutive years. Among other competition prizes are 2nd Prize, VIII Concurso Nacional de Piano Silvia Eisenstein, 2nd Prize, Concurso Nacional de Piano a Cuatro Manos Gerty Haas-Olga Mondolfi, and 2nd Prize, Concurso Nacional de Piano Harriet Serr, all three on the national level in Venezuela.
